What Are Braces?
Braces are dental appliances that are attached to the teeth, providing a controlled force to move the teeth to the proper position. They are fixed to the teeth in order to let us grip the teeth while moving them. Each of the brackets is connected by wires or elastic bands, which provides the force.

The wires or elastic bands are adjusted for a number of periods in order to move a specific tooth to the proper position.

How Braces Work
Braces work by gently pressing on your teeth over time. The force will move your teeth to the desired position. The treatment period will depend on the condition of your teeth, the health of your jawbone and gums as well as your age. In minor cases, it can take months. However, there are cases where it may even take years to achieve the desired results.
